Baby goods

My baby girl was born in January and since this is my first experience to raise a kid, there is no way to compare but still I feel every maternity and baby goods are improving day by day.
They are, for example;

1. baby formula cubes.  They take cube shapes and it is so handy to take them anywhere. I can feed my daughter anywhere anytime if I only have hot water. As it is not powder type, I don’ have to worry about making a mess while I prepare feeding. This certainly reduces my stress even thinking about its slightly higher price than normal powder milk.

2. Freeze-dried baby foods.  Alike baby formula cubes, it is so handy to bring anywhere, again with hot water.
I brought them with me on our short trip and they didn't take any space nor weight.
My mom keeps telling me to use baby food jars to ease any chores.  She was a big fan of those baby food jars when she raised us, which was almost 35 years ago.
I remember those jars from the movies like "Baby boom” and they never seem so tasty to me even then.  Maybe it is because their color and texture.  Light-brown colored paste.
Now you have a lot of choices for freeze-dried foods from pumpkin and spinach to cod fish and chicken liver.  Hope they are tasty to my kid.

3. Baby carrier.  My mom told me that they only had piggyback style baby carrier.
Now we all have a variety of good loads of baby carries like BabyBjorn, Ergo and others.
One of my favorite is Japanese product called “Dacuno” from a store called La Cuna Honpo.
As they are designed with body engineering perspectives, they are so comfortable to wear.
With this babycarrier on, baby's body weight is evenly loaded onto both shoulders. The shoulder straps have enough width and they won’t dig into your shoulders. Doesn't hurt at all.  As this is made of cotton fabrics, they are so light and you can fold it to tight.  It won’t take space in your bag and you can bring it anywhere.
The last but least, my kid likes herself to be in it.  She doesn’t get reluctant to be set inside and she seems comfortable in it. Usually after 15-20 minutes walking, she starts sleeping inside.
One thing you have to be careful is that since this one doesn’t have any neck holder, not so recommended for babies with no sitting. I started to use it very early but I always made sure to support my baby's neck with my hands.  She is now 9 months old and she weighs almost 20 lbs but it is still totally okay for her to be in the carrier.  So durable.
You can choose the carrier size based on wearer’s body size.  Since I (159 cm height) have sloping shoulders I chose Small rather than Medium size and it perfectly fit me.  There is no good fitting size for my husband whose height is 185 cm and I wish they had XL or bigger.

I also liked product called Peekaru very much.
This is a baby carrier cover warming both baby and mother.
You have to worry about what to wear your baby when it is chilly outside.  You may want a knitted sweater or pair of socks for your kid but it is sometimes a pain to get them all and prepared.
But as this product is warm enough covering all of your body, you can take her easily outside even if she is underdressed.

Many news reports increase in baby carrier accidents and I know we all have to be careful for handling of convenient baby goods. On the other hand it is so true that many of us receive benefits from them and I hope they keep contributing our parenting life to be less stressful and more enjoyable.
