it's a music label with advanced style mixing sound and visual arts from Germany. my sister happend to get to know a music agent when she held her art exhibition in Toronto. That agent person covers many works and as one of them, he called the label mates to Toronto for its city art event. my sis went their live and found it really amazing though not so many people went to see them because of lack of advertisement. there were no even ad cards but good thing is that they didn't seem to care. lucky her had an opportunity to go out with them for a drink and she was impressed to found them really polite. isn't that great that big person behave frank and modest? that could be one of the minor reasons they became big.

anyways they dropped off far way to japan this time and i anticipated to see their lives though it's kinda hard to find friends to go with as it's over night event.
luckily i got someone to accompany with but it was worth to go even alone. people all around were so serious about the music and it didn't have any naughty atmosphere usually comes with many regular clubs. electronic sound scene is a kind new to me but an experience is always good.

above all, there was a happy surprise to bump into my old elementary friend at the place. i got impressed by myself to be able to recognize her after more than 10 years blank,でも嬉しいものです。東京、狭いなあ~。

paul and shuntaro

been to Tanikawa Shuntaro's poetry reading over "Paul Klee and music" at Bridgestone museum. He's published two poetry books with Klee's pictures, クレーの絵本、クレーと天使。Klee is one of my favorite artists though I often confuse his pictures with Kandinski's. they have warm and fuzzy atmosphere with one look but often their titles are like "death and fire" or something scary. its pretty painting style and fearsome titles seem contradictory but i liked it. パステル調の色使いのときもあれば、全体的に暗～い色調の場合もある。タイトルなどもおどろおどろしいものもあるんだけど、それでも可愛らしさがどこかには必ず残っているような。それがほっとさせる効果をもつのか、裏にひそむ何かメッセージ性にアンテナを張らなくてはいけないのかはよく分からないのだけれどね。今回セミナーを開いてくれたパウル・クレー協会の新藤信さんもクレーの絵の題名にだまされてはいけない、みたいなことを今回の講義のなかで言ってたし。

この新藤信さん、上手な語り手またはむしろ聞き手でした。こちらの勉強不足で彼の挙げた芸術家たちの名前にはあまり馴染みのないものもあったりしたけれど、短い時間のなかで簡単にクレーについて述べてくれた。
その後に続く谷川俊太郎とのトークでも軽妙にかえしながら会話をつなげてく。羨ましい。

谷川俊太郎自身はよくプロフィール紹介などで出ている姿そのまんま、作務衣の上にスカーフといった。詩人というのは何か感受性が違うのかなあ。散文やエッセイは理性で書けるけど詩に関しては違う、おなかの下からでてくるような感じだと言っていました。
見かけは普通の可愛らしいおじいさんです。けっして朗々とした声ではなく地声で自身の詩を朗読してくれたけど、やはり詩はどんな声だとしても読むより聞く方がいいのかも。

ブリジストン、大昔に一度行ったきりだったけれどこじんまりとしててよかった。上野にある美術館は大き過ぎ、かつ混み過ぎで苦手なことが多いのでこういう個人美術館の方がよい。最近のヒットは青山のユニマット美術館でした。シャガールと一緒にアンドリュー・ワイエスもやっていて、それなのに空いていてかなり清潔。お得な所です。

finally!

時間かかりましたが、やっと読み終えました、ハリポタ。the deathly hallows.　いまだ興奮冷めやらず。

きっとナルニアとかモモがでたときも話題性とか読者の気分の高まりとかはこんな感じだったのでしょうか。またはもっとさかのぼると、ロビンソン・クルーソーが出たときなども。

エンターテインメント性たっぷりです。笑うシーンあり、泣くシーンあり、戦闘シーンあり。ハリウッド系のファンタジー。最後は妖怪大戦争並みに色んなものが入り混じってますが、みんなが納得いくかたちで終わってると思います。
7年目にして完結し、7巻目なんて果てしない物語並みに分厚いけど、全ての出来事がつながって終わっているということは最初からストーリー決まっていたのかなあ。

魔法系の長いファンタジーという意味ではナルニアなどと通じるものがあるのだけど、コミカルであるというのが一番の違いかな。結構笑えます。でもかけ言葉みたいなものがあったりするので、あの良さは日本語でうまく表せるのでしょうか。HermioneのHer-my-ownとかsaintlikeのi'm holeyなど私は笑ってしまったのですが、どう訳すんだろう。
よう、兄弟、気分はどうだい？　パンチにでもなった気分だよ。　？。　穴あき。
みたいな感じでしょうか。

ハリポタ、松岡祐子さん訳読んだことないけど上手く訳してあるとよいです。
やはり訳に物語の面白さは左右されると思うので。

ハウルと動く城とか、きっと本来は面白い物語なのではと思うのですが、いまいちのめり込めなかったのは和訳のせいなのでは。なんだかブツ切りだったもの。
反対に赤毛のアンシリーズなどについては、肝心のカナダ人はあんまり読んでなくて、日本人には大人気というのはやはりあれは新潮文庫の村岡花子さんの和訳力によるものと勝手に思ってます。原文より日本語訳の方がずっと魅力にあふれて面白いものになっている気がする。とにかく少年少女のバイブルです。
